In 2013 Continuing Education led an expedition to the very end of the earth. This land of glittering ice, majestic peaks, and dazzling beauty is a haven for migratory birds, whales, seals, and other marine mammals which come each summer to feast in its food-rich coastal waters. We visited during the Antarctic summer when temperatures were mild, generally hovering just above freezing. The well-equipped, highly maneuverable, 92-passenger Akedemik Sergey Vavilov research vessel was our home base for our 11 day cruise. Daily excursions allowed participants to experience Antarctic wildlife and scenery up close. Vist the Exploring and Travel webpage to see what other adventures we are planning.
