The 23,000 acre Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge is home to 26 plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth. Students explored some of the 50 springs and seeps, enchanting marshlands, streams, and ash/mesquite groves in the middle of a harsh landscape of Mojave Desert alkali flats. Attendees were treated with spectacular mountain and desert views and met wildflowers, birds, butterflies, and dragonflies.
